'Distilleries with Ed Thomas' - Slow Food Workshop

Ever wondered why a gin is London Dry, or what overproof actually means? Well, by telling the stories of the fabulous people who craft enchanting spirits in Shropshire, local drinks writer Ed Thomas will lead us through the fascinating world of small batch distilling.

There will be four top tipples, accompanied by paired snacks, to enjoy while Ed meanders through the process of distilling. Discusses the people who pour their passion into their products and explains why place, locality and provenance are all so important.

These tasting workshops are led by expert producers or chefs, touching on Slow Food principles, hear their story illustrated by food and drink. They all take place inside Ludlow Castle's Beacon Room which you enter via the Castle Garden area within Food Festival hours, or the Castle side door (right of main Castle entrance- look for the flag) for any out of hours workshops and the Slow Food Feast. All workshops last about an hour.
